Welcome to Ms. Akre's Teacher Page

I was raised in San Lorenzo and graduated from Arroyo High School. I love going camping and my favorite place to be is at the beach. I also love crafting and my favorite thing to do in class for brain breaks is dance! I teach because these children are our future and to be a part of their learning and growing is very rewarding, and like most, the “ah-ha” moments that I witness daily, remind me of why I chose to be an educator in the first place.

What Inspires Me

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you could use to change the world” Nelson Mandela

College

I attended California State University, East Bay and received my Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies followed by my teaching credential. I received my Masters in Teaching Leadership from Saint Mary’s College of California.

District Tools I Use

Attendance:
I take attendance using Aeries. You can stay on top of attendance through the Aeries Family Portal or Aeries App

Report Cards:
I use Aeries to generate report cards. Families can view report cards through the Aeries Family Portal.

Gradebook:
I have not started to use the Aeries Standards-based Gradebook, but will update my Teacher Page when I begin using it.  If you are subscribed to this page, you will be notified via email.

Sangha Interactive App:
I will be relying on the Sangha app to communicate with families in a protected, password-protected environment.  Please download the app and log in using the parent-guardian email that was used for enrollment or data confirmation.

Google Classroom:
I have not yet started to use Google Classroom.  I will update my Teacher Page when I do.

Meet the Teacher

It was such a pleasure to meet all of you on the first day of school. I look forward to learning more about your children and family. Attached is the letter that was sent home in the student folder on the first day of school that lets you know a little bit more about me!
