Meet the Principal

Bethannee Witczak (Mrs. W.) grew up in the Bay Area and decided to stay in the area after graduating from high school. She studied Dramatic Arts and Psychology at Mills College in Oakland, and graduated with a bachelor degree. A few years later, she returned to Mills College to acquire her multiple subject teaching credential and a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education. She spent the next 20 years teaching in San Lorenzo Unified, serving as a classroom teacher, an intervention specialist, an English Language Development coordinator and, most recently, a district literacy coach. After a year as an assistant principal in Hayward, she found her way back home to San Lorenzo Unified.

Mrs. W. lives in Dublin with her husband, her two children (Ian and Zoe) and her son's snake. She is an avid traveler, and Disneyland is one of her favorite destinations. She enjoys camping (in their family trailer) by the beach and visiting places she's never been before. She also loves to read, sing and learn! She is very excited to be starting her fourth year as the principal of Bay Elementary. Nothing better than being a Bronco!

Today and every day, it's great to be a Bronco! Welcome to the family!
