Welcome to Ms. Venezia's Teacher Page
My name is Lindsay Venezia and I have been working as a Special Day Class teacher since 2011. Before being hired on as an SDC teacher, I worked as a substitute teacher and paraprofessional for 4 years. One of the biggest goals I strive to achieve in my classroom is giving students a voice and a way to communicate their wants and needs. Not all of my students are verbal and therefore may require alternative modes of communication but nonetheless, they are encouraged to “use their words” by whatever means necessary.
What Inspires Me
"Strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle."
--Napolean Hill
This quote is inspiring to me because it reminds me of what it truly means to learn and overcome our fears and weaknesses in terms of growing as a person. It applies so well to both teachers and students in that we learn from each other and sometimes the bigger the struggle means the bigger the reward.
College
I attended UC Santa Barbara my first year of college and transferred to California State University Hayward where I graduated with a B.A. in Sociology. I later decided to go back to school to earn my teaching credential and I attended California State University Sacramento-CCE.
