End Of Year Information

May 26, 2020

Dear Bronco families,

First and foremost, I hope this letter finds you and all of your loved ones safe and well. Our school site has been closed since mid-March and while I miss seeing all of your faces, I’m hopeful that our choices are making a difference in the fight against this virus. I hope that our efforts are saving the lives of people in our community and helping to slow the spread of the virus. That said, I know it has been challenging for all of us. Thank you for your support and understanding during this difficult time.

The purpose of this letter is to share information with you about the end of the school year. You will be receiving a letter from San Lorenzo Unified later today, but I wanted to share site-specific information as soon as it was available.

Per district agreement with the San Lorenzo Education Association, instruction will end for all San Lorenzo students on Friday, May 29th. This is to allow teachers and staff to return to campus and gather up student personal items and completed work for distribution, as well as, close out the school site for the summer months. It means that this week is the final week of instruction for our students and Friday will be the final assemblies of the school year.

Any belongings and work left on campus will be bagged by teachers and handed out for TK-4th graders in the loop on June 8th. All families must stay in their cars and we will deliver materials to you. If you are ill, please stay home. Even though you will be staying in your cars, we ask that you wear masks to help keep everyone safe. If you have more than one child, please come to the time frame for your OLDEST child to pick up materials for your family:

  • Monday, June 8: 9-10:30 a.m. TK-K-1
  • Monday, June 8: 10:30-12 p.m. 2nd-3rd
  • Monday, June 8: 1-2 p.m. 4th (and anyone TK-3rd who was not able to come during their assigned time frame)

We will be celebrating our fifth graders from afar during their pick up time on Tuesday, June 9, so fifth grade families, please bring your students. Again, everyone must stay in their cars, but we look forward to seeing their faces, even if they are wearing masks!

  • Tuesday, June 9: 12-1 p.m. 5th Grade Materials Pick Up

Also, while you may keep Chromebooks over the summer, please bring library and classroom books to be turned in during your time. If you have any questions or are unable to make it during the assigned times, please contact me and we will figure out how to help. Again, thank you for being a part of the Bay community and all you do! Today and every day, it’s great to be a Bronco.
