Welcome to Ms. Sandin's Teacher Page

I was born and raised in Iowa, but have lived in California since 2005.  I have been teaching in the San Lorenzo Unified School District since 2015.  I love my dogs, Oy and Irl, as well as my partner, Jonathan.  We are expecting a baby boy in September 2018.  I cannot wait to return to the classroom and continue learning along with my students.

District Tools I Use

Attendance:
I take attendance using Aeries. You can stay on top of attendance through the Aeries Family Portal or Aeries App

Report Cards:
I use Aeries to generate report cards. Families can view report cards through the Aeries Family Portal.

Gradebook:
I have not started to use the Aeries Standards-based Gradebook, but will update my Teacher Page when I begin using it.  If you are subscribed to this page, you will be notified via email.)

Sangha Interactive App:
I will be relying on the Sangha app to communicate with families in a protected, password-protected environment.  Please download the app and log in using the parent-guardian email that was used for enrollment or data confirmation.

Google Classroom:
I have not yet started to use Google Classroom.  I will update my Teacher Page when I begin using it.  If you are subscribed to this page, you will be notified via email.

Other Tools I Use:
Typing Club – We use this site that is accessible from home to practice our typing skills.  We do not complete writing assignments on the computer 2nd grade, but students must have knowledge of the correct way of typing when these assignments begin in upper grades.

Reasoning Mind:
We use the Reasoning Mind, Smarter Solving website to help assist students on their individual math needs.  Assignments can be given out by the teacher, completed at home and student progress can be tracked.  It is structured using the 2nd grade Common Core standards.
